Has your period cup been inserted properly?
1. Run a clean finger around the cup to make sure it’s unfolded fully.
2. Very gently pull down on the cup stem. You should feel a slight resistance, showing that your cup is sitting with the correct position.
3. Make sure the cup and stem are not sticking out of your vagina.
The stem on the Period Cup should be completely inside of your vagina. Should the baubles of the stem cause you any discomfort while walking or sitting you can shorten the stem. You can simply cut off one or two of the baubles. Remove the Period Cup from the vagina and use a clean pair of scissors to shorten the stem. Thoroughly clean the Period Cup before you reinsert.
How to remove your period cup
Wash your hands.
Get comfortable in a relaxed position. We suggest a squatting position or sitting on the toilet.
Gently squeeze the cup base or insert a clean finger beside alongside the cup to gently nudge it sideways. This will overcome the seal-effect holding it in place, allowing you to easily remove it. Do not just pull on the stem as this can cause discomfort.
If you cannot reach the Period Cup use your pelvic muscles to gently press down until you can reach the bottom of the cup with your fingers.
Empty the menstrual fluid into the toilet and rinse the period cup. You can now reinsert your period cup.
